San Diego Zoo
& Wild Animal Park |
The world-famous San Diego Zoo has been the gem of the city of San Diego for more than 80 years. A respected San Diego physician, Dr. Harry Wegeforth, who rescued a few animals from a roadside zoo that had been part of the 1915-1916 Panama Pacific Exposition in Balboa Park, founded it.
From those meager beginnings and the roar of one lonely lion, the San Diego Zoo now enjoys world-renowned stature as a conservation institution, botanical garden and family attraction. The Zoo is also proud of its prestigious accreditations by the American Association of Museums and the American Zoo and Aquarium Association.

Sea World
Behind The Scenes |
A day at Sea World San Diego is a day filled with adventure, fun, discovery and surprises. From spectacular, high-energy shows to world-class thrill rides, the fun and action does not stop. This year at SeaWorld guests will discover more animals, more excitement, more sensational entertainment, and more interactive opportunities than ever before.
Behind the Scenes tours are available for groups of 15 with a maximum of 25. Additional tours can be added if numbers exceed 25 guests. The guided tour provides special insights into the park and the animals, and grants access to areas not open to most Sea World guests.
SeaWorlds Shipwreck Rapids, the parks first adventure ride, takes castaways on a thrilling journey on raft-like, nine-passenger tubes in hopes of returning to civilization. During their quest, passengers encounter raging rapids, roaring waterfalls, sunbathing sea turtles, a near collision with a ships propeller, and a dark, forbidding tunnel that takes the lost travelers through the interior of a ships hissing engine room.
